A win and a second for Travis Wyman in MotoAmerica Stock 1000 at Road America

Travis Wyman put in stunning performances this weekend at Road America, Elkart Lake, Wisconsin. The Bilmola sponsored literbike star notched up pole position, a second place and a win to put himself in contention for the 2023 Steel Commander Stock 1000 title.

Newly resurfaced for 2023, the iconic four-mile circuit with its fast, sweeping turns and stomach-churning undulations provided spectacular racing in near perfect sunny conditions.

Travis seized the initiative from the first practice session, clocking a time four tenths clear of the next best rider. In Qualifying he pulled out a similar advantage to take pole position in the 31-bike field.

He launched well from the start in Race 1 and spent the first half scrapping for the lead before losing a little pace. Travis nevertheless took a safe second with a margin of almost three seconds over the battle for third behind him.

Set-up changes to his BMW ahead of Race 2 paid off handsomely, as the New York born racer converted pole position into a lead at turn one and extended it progressively over full race distance. And, in case there was any doubt about his dominance, Travis recorded his fastest time on the penultimate lap to take the win by over two seconds. The winning weekend in Wisconsin puts our man into third in the standings and firmly in contention for the Stock 1000 title. There’s more action to look forward to in MotoAmerica Round 4, which is coming up at The Ridge in Washington State on June 23-25.
