Baggers podium for Travis Wyman in final round at New Jersey

In the tenth and final round of the 2023 MotoAmerica Championship, Bilmola USA’s Travis Wyman pushed through to clinch third place in a dramatic rain-swept race on Saturday at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

In dry practice and qualifying sessions on Friday, Travis kept his Screamin’ Eagle Harley Davidson within a second of the fastest time to earn the fourth slot on the starting grid.

On Saturday teeming rain took control of proceedings, with standing water in many places making the 2.25-mile New Jersey circuit especially treacherous. Travis launched his 620--pound Road Glide well as the red lights went out for the eight-lap race, and quickly found himself engaged in a dogfight for third. At half distance he pulled clear and set about reducing the deficit ahead of him to second place. The New Yorker went on a charge, clocking his fastest lap of the race the penultimate time around and got tantalizingly close to grabbing P2. In the end, he took the checkered flag just four tenths adrift and with clear space of 11 seconds behind him.

It was an inspired finish to a tricky 2023 Mission King of the Baggers campaign for Travis Wyman. Despite three DNFs, he never gave up and came through to complete the season with 112 points and eighth place in the standings. Bilmola USA is proud to have supported Travis for a second full season, which also saw him seal third place in the MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Championship.

And stay tuned for more excitement, because Bilmola USA will be upping its international motorcycle racing game still further in 2024 …
