Pride of Milwaukee – Travis Wyman wins home race for Harley-Davidson

With Mission King of the Baggers arch-rivals Harley-Davidson and Indian battling for supremacy through this season, the heat was on this past weekend as MotoAmerica came to Harley Davidson’s Milwaukee home circuit at Road America.

It was Bilmola’s very own Travis Wyman who stepped up during the race, qualifying second and ultimately taking a convincing win on his Screamin’ Eagle Road Glide.

The race was nothing like a glide, however. Starting from the middle of the front row and on a drying track, Travis found himself in a bruising battle as he went into the first corner in third place. He quickly showed his intent with an aggressive move into second, as a five-way battle for the lead raged during the first half of the race.

With less than two laps remaining, Travis pulled off a clean move into first place and pulled the pin, stretching out a lead that extended to one second as he took the checkered flag. With his brother Kyle completing a one-two, and Travis moving to within 8 points of the championship lead, it was the best possible result in front of the home crowd.

And that wasn’t all, because Travis’s custom Bilmola RC-1 also featured on the Yuasa Stock 1000 podium for the third time in four rounds. It was another tough race in the liter-class. Starting from fourth on the grid, Travis fought his way from fifth on the opening lap to move into third on lap 3 then second one lap later. Having cleared the battle behind him, he clocked the fastest lap of the race in his pursuit of the leader. His second-place win puts him just 6 points off the top of the championship standings.

A huge congratulations and thanks to Travis Wyman! We’ll be back for the next round at Ridge Motorsports Park on June 24-26th.
